We want setting the best European standards

DP leader Sali Berisha today introduced the program for the environment, forests and pastures, describing the current situation as alarming. He accused the government of mass destruction of forests, interruption of subsidies and favoring the construction mafia in protected areas. « Forestry will be a top priority, combined with the planting of fruit trees. We will rebuild the infrastructure of forest and pasture protection, according to European standards, »-Berisha said.

Thank you for your presence here, thank the panelists for the work they have done. We argue today on the program of those areas that are directly related to life, health, well -being of Albanian citizens. In many respects, of primary importance to human health, of primary importance to the environment, forests, pastures, waters. What stands out today in these 12 years we can say that it is a big flip. I do not want to use terms, but it is an ignorance, it is an invasion by the mafia of these fields. The environment to which human health is directly linked to is more abandoned, more threatened than rarely ever in history. The environment is today completely dominated, manipulated, damaged by the entire mafia interest of government clientele. Albania, which for some circumstances could have the most coveted environments in Europe, has the capital, one of the 10-12 most polluted cities on the planet.

Without any kind of monitoring, without any control, with unstoppable concrete with nothing, with endless trick, officials claim to have planted 1 million trees, at a time when they have cut hundreds of thousands. This deed, this tremendous pollution in our cities, this is the same in our waters. Last summer we had almost no blue flags in our seas and lakes.

Although we, for the sake of truth, built 11 sewage processing plants and were actually heading towards the entire blocking of sewage into the sea, those corruption was locked. Municipalities do not put into operation. Do not pay the energy for their operation. And they talk about pearls, talk about the Maldives, talk about all at a time when they are the most polluted shores in Europe. They are more polluted having the built -in plant, but which put the key because they do not want to pay electricity municipalities. Extraordinary potential exists in forests, pastures, hills, mountains, Alps of Albania. Everything goes in free fall. Almost any kind of subsidy for forestry, fruit, medical plants were interrupted. Hunting was also banned, not having the most minimal concepts of balance. The areas of the highest biodiversity were aggressed.

The law was amended to open the doors for the claws of the construction mafia in these areas. There is nothing protected anymore. Diseases from pollution increase rapidly, especially malignant diseases. Aromatic and etheric plants, medicinal plants, which are a great fortune on all four sides of the country, from Chaiup to Jezerca and border with Plava, but they crashed into the ground. I’m not just talking about cannabis plantations, but I mean Narkoeuro. They no longer export. With the decline of 30 and the percent of the euro, they no longer have any profit.

And instead of urgently creating the fund of supporting these exports, all these ventures that employed thousands of residents in the poorest areas, the government makes and gives access to traffickers for the construction of towers, to transform drug money into concrete. Forests, Professor Hasani, said, in one year, 40,000 hectares of fires. They received 10 million, they were subscribed to the satellite that we would allegedly see the fires, that they could not see them without satellite. Last year’s fires were wilder than ever there were no means to extinguish them. So to tell the truth, the environment, the forests and the pastures constitute a national emergency. So our project has one goal: setting the best European standards in our program. Standards aimed at a healthy environment, a clean environment, a monitoring environment, a developed environment.

The environmental complex, the factors that interact in the environment, will receive all the attention and engagement. There is no doubt that real forestry will be a central direction. Forestry will be intertwined with planting fruit trees. But that does not mean that it will be given up from planting other naive trees for the areas where they are. The whole forest protection infrastructure was destroyed. All pasture infrastructure was destroyed. The reconstruction of the institutions of these areas, their activity in accordance with European standards, will be our commitment to Albanians. Transparent and honest management is known today, if you go from Elbasan to Kolonja, see wood trucks, Taulant Balla have the license plate. This is the truth.

Whether they are all of it, I don’t know, but he is named in Kolonja and Librazhd, this is the truth. So these become millionaires, more than millionaires with this massive destruction done to forests. So the fall in these sectors is very large, very painful, very consequences. But again the potentials of the restoration are real and we are determined to give our program, environmental protection, forests and pastures, waters and air, more serious investments in order to reach European standards in these areas as the best standards for the health and living of Albanian citizens.
