« We do not agree with the increase of taxes »

The president of the Concordia Confederation, Dan Șucu, said on Thursday that the business environment does not agree with the increase of taxes.

« We look forward to seeing this commission that deals with the decrease in expenses, the reduction of expenses, how it will work and how it will be implemented. (…) We have a very clear point of view – the taxes already paid by the companies are very high. From our point of view, the problems regarding the deficit are too much. We do not agree with the increase of taxes ”, said Dan Șucu, at the Cotroceni Palace.

President Nicușor Dan met on Thursday, at the Cotroceni Palace, with representatives of the business associative environment.

According to the Presidential Administration, the meeting took place in the context of the current economic situation, which requires conjugated efforts to identify some constructive solutions that will lead to the reduction of the budget deficit of our country.

The quoted source informs that President Nicușor Dan initiated these consultations taking into account the opening of the business environment in providing expertise for the benefit of all the parties involved.

« During the meeting, the delegations of the business environment have reiterated the commitment of the organizations they represent to contribute to ensuring the economic stability of Romania in the long term, by identifying efficiency measures that will lead to the sustainability of public finances, » the source said.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the following employers’ and business organizations: Concordia Employers, Foreign Investors Council, Romanian Business Leaders Foundation, AMBER CAREER in Romania, Chamber of Commerce, Industry and French Agriculture in Romania, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romanian and National Council.

« I hope it will be the first of several meetings to have and I would propose you, because you know it is a difficult time for Romania’s fiscal policy, so to speak, to divide the discussion in two: what to do before June 30 when we have to prepare a package for the second half of 2025 in which to take some measures, I hope, Nicușor Dan said, at the beginning of the meeting, according to the images transmitted by the Presidential Administration.
