It is the warning of the special representative of the US President, Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff, in an interview with TV presenter Tucker Carlson, writes inpolitics.ro.
In the interview, from which we present fragments, Witkoff spoke positive about Putin, admitted the possibility that Ukraine gave up Russia and said that Moscow did not plan to fight with Ukraine or Europe.
Tucker Carlson: Putin, who has been in power for 25 years, has been consistent throughout his entire president in a key requirement-for NATO to cease to expand to its borders. And, in particular, like Ukraine – the largest neighboring country with Russia – not to become a NATO member. And, from what I understand – and I am convinced of this – this remains the central requirement. Point. Without Ukraine in NATO – otherwise there will be no peace. It is just as Israel does not want Hamas on his borders. They don’t want that. Can I guarantee the United States?
Steven Witkoff: First of all, I think the main problem in this conflict are the so-called four regions: Donbas, Crimea, you know these names-Lugansk and two more. These are Russian regions, where there were referendums in which a overwhelming majority of people voted to be under the leadership of Russia. In my opinion, this is the key problem of conflict.
