The Directorate of Public Health (DSP) Prahova has notified the criminal investigation bodies regarding the case of water from Breaza contaminated with the bacteria Clostridium perfringens, it is shown in a response transmitted by this institution to a local.
According to the DSP response addressed to Alexandrei Pavelescu, a local from Breaza, and transmitted by it to the press, the sanitary inspectors self-identified on this case on April 26, after on the social networks it was reported that the water delivered to the public system has a specific smell of sewerage and slightly colored appearance.
« From the statements of the representatives of Hidro Prahova SA, a damage was held in the pumping station – SP2 on 25.04.2025, at 3:00 pm, which lasted until around 9:00 pm, with frequent interruptions in this interval (defective contactor at the Pumping Station SP 2 located in the center of Breaza), » the source said.
Also on April 26, the management of DSP Prahova and the chief inspector of the State Sanitary Inspection of the Ministry of Health were announced, on which several measures were arranged.
DSP mentions that the results of the analyzes performed on the samples taken at that time showed the presence of the bacterium Clostridium perfringens, the Hidro Prahova operator being fined 70,000 lei.
