The Rapid Bucharest Football Club together with the Lucescu family, which owns the Grivița factory, launched, on Tuesday, the ‘1923’ beer, intended for Giulesti supporters, and the name wants to evoke the history of the Bucharest team that has been founded in that year.

Matei Lucescu, the nephew of the coach Mircea Lucescu and the son of the former coach of Rapid, Răzvan Lucescu, said that he wants to think about the tradition and promised that he would produce a special beer if the Giuleștean team will win a trophy next season.

‘This is a partnership between Grivița and the Rapid Club, it is not a sponsorship contract. We want together to promote this product and this brand and together to go in front of the fans of the Rapid and in front of those who want to get to know more about this club. It’s about sharing a story, the story of this club. When we started this project, we wanted the name to have a connection with the Rapid club, but we did not want to take it on the classic route, to make a fast or Giulești beer, we wanted to do something a little more interesting for people to think about the history of the fast to tradition. And when you see 1923 you realize the longevity of this club, which the attempt has gone through over time. And if quickly win a trophy, we think of a special beer, to celebrate this.
