The 4.2 degree earthquake occurred at a depth of 131.9 kilometers, near the following cities: 53 km northwest of Buzau, 57 km west of Focșani, 64 km southeast of Sfântu-Gheorghe, 68 km east of Brașov, 76 km northeast of Ploiești.
According to the reported testimonies, the earthquake felt in Bucharest (sectors 1, 2 and 4), Buzău, Ploiești, Mizil, Galați, Suceava.
Also on Saturday morning, two weak earthquakes were recorded in the Vrancea seismic area, Vrancea County.
The first, with magnitude 2.4, took place at 03:37:42, at a depth of 15.9 km, and produced near the following cities: 12 km northwest of Focșani, 65 km southwest Bârlad, 74 km north of Buzău, 83 km north-west of Galați, 87 km south of Bacău, 90 km.
The second earthquake, 2.6 degrees, was recorded at 06:52:48 at a depth of 110.5 kilometers. The earthquake occurred near the following cities: 34 km west of Focșani, 68 km north of Buzău, 76 km east of Sfântu-Gheorghe, 87 km southwest of Bârlad, 89 south of Bacău, 90 km east of Brașov.
In May, in Romania there were eight earthquakes, with magnitude between 2 and 4.4.
The largest earthquakes this year, both with the magnitude 4.4, took place on February 13, in Buzău county, and on May 11 in Vrancea county.
Last year, the most important earthquake had a magnitude of 5.4 and occurred in Buzau County, on September 16.
