Warsaw. Failure of the heating pipe. Hot water killed a man
Information about the tragic event in Białołęka was given by the portal « Miejski Reporter ». A dramatic accident occurred at night from Friday to Saturday (11/12 April) on ul. Modlińska. It took place around midnight.
Warsaw. Hot water killed a man in the channel
« Municipal Reporter » reports that A burned man ran into the rescue and firefighting unit No. 1, informing firefighters about the crack of a pipe with boiling water in the heating channel, in which he stayed with his friend. He managed to get to the surface, but the second man remained imprisoned.

A rescue operation has started. One of the firefighters changed into a specialized overalls, protecting against high temperature and with a rope pulled to the channel. Unfortunately, the found man showed no signs of life. After the victim was mined on the surface, paramedics found death that occurred as a result of severe burns.
A second person burned after an accident in the channel. What caused water to spill?
The second man, who managed to get out of the channel and call for help, was provided on the spot and transported to the hospital. He has seriously burned legs.
Two fire brigades, representatives of the city’s operational group, two crews of the Medical Rescue Team, heating ambulance and the police worked on site.
On Saturday (April 12) in the afternoon Veolia issued a statement.
The event was not related to any heating failure. Both men were unauthorized in the chamber. Probably due to the interference of men staying in the chamber, the vent valve was repealed and hot water has been out of the flow. The intervention brigade, after arriving at the place, overestimated the chamber and went inside. Employees closed the venting, stopping the water outflow – the water level in the chamber was about 7 cm. We declare full cooperation with the police in clarifying the circumstances of this event
