Warnings against strong wind and snow. Check the regions!
The 1st degree warning against strong wind includes voivodships such as Podlasie, Warmian-Masurian, Lublin, Mazowieckie, Podkarpackie, Lesser Poland, Świętokrzyskie, Łódź and the Pomeranian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Wielkopolska, West Pomeranian and Silesian parts. The wind can reach a speed of up to 35 km/h, and by the sea up to 45 km/h, with gusts up to 80 km/h. The alerts apply until Saturday evening.
The second degree warning against the strong wind applies to some of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Łódź, Mazowieckie and Warmian-Masurian voivodships, where the wind can reach a speed of up to 50 km/h, and gusts up to 95 km/h. These alerts apply until 20:00. The Government Security Center also issued similar warnings.
Frosts and snowfall in many regions of Poland
All of Poland is covered by the 1st degree alerts before frosts. A decrease in air temperature from minus 4 degrees C to minus 2 degrees C is forecast, and with even minus 6 degrees, these warnings will apply from 5 to 10 April. In addition, IMGW issued warnings against snowfall for Lublin, Lesser Poland, Podkarpackie and Podlasie voivodships. Snowfall is forecast, which can cause snow cover up to 5 cm.
The eastern and central part of the country is covered by warning warnings, which will apply from Saturday night to Sunday to 9:00. The alerts relate to the Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Lublin, Łódź, Lesser Poland, Masovian, Podkarpackie, Podlasie, Pomeranian, Silesian, Świętokrzyskie and Warmian-Masurian voivodships.
Rapid increases in water states. Problems, among others on the Szczecin Lagoon
IMGW also issued warnings against rapid growth of water states for the Szczecin Lagoon in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The alert is valid until 9:00 on Sunday. For the Elbląg area, the Vistula Lagoon and its Nogat basin, a second degree warning was issued against overcoming warning states, which is valid until 10:00 on Sunday. The forecast storm wind from the north can increase water levels to the warning states and above.
IMGW recommends caution and tracking messages about the development of the weather situation. The 1st degree warnings provide for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that can cause material losses and the threat to health and life. Second degree warnings indicate the possibility of phenomena causing large material losses.
