The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday that it is « still in progress » a supported campaign of manipulation and foreign information interference meant to influence the public opinion in Romania, which « presents all the characteristics of the Russian misinformation. »

« The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically rejects the content of the false article attributed Euronews, which has been posted and distributed on the social-media platforms. At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that, in recent years, and more intensely, a supported campaign and foreign information interference has been held in Romania, and this is still a public. In progress and presents all the characteristics of the Russian misinformation and of the masked campaigns of anti-NATO and anti-EU propaganda, ”it is stated in a statement from the ministry.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in recent weeks, France has been the target of such manipulations.
