Walker on the Den Treek estate probably bitten by Wolf
According to the management of Landgoed den Treek-Henschoten near Leusden, a woman was bitten by a wolf on Monday afternoon. According to steward Wilbert Nijlant, the victim was walking on her own on the estate. « She walked into a hiking trail into the forest from a bench, » says Nijlant. « After about a hundred meters, a wolf came from the forest that bit her. » According to Nijlant, the woman remained calm and walked back to the bench, where two other holidaymakers were. « The wolf ran behind her, the three of them then driven away the animal, » says the steward.
According to Nijlant, the woman remained calm because she had had information about wolves at her child’s school. She would have wounds on both legs. « At least one leg has a deep wound, the wounds on the other can also be scratches, » says Nijlant. The steward only knows that the woman went to the doctor.
With the anesthetic you are already scare the wolf off
It is not the first incident with a wolf on the Den Treek estate. In 2024 a woman reported at the beginning of July that her poodle had been taken by a wolf. On July 16 that year, a wolf attacked a child who was playing together with other children from an out -of -school care.
The father of the girl and the BSO director say they were bite wounds. Multiple wolven experts contradicted this in regional media, based on the photos of the child’s injuries. At the end of July 2024 a wolf a child at Austerlitz knocked over.
Evidence
DNA van de Wolf was only collected from the omdow incident. It turned out to be GW3237M, popularly called ‘Wolf Bram’. According to steward Nijlant, this animal would often go close to people. He is convinced that it was Wolf Bram who bit the woman on Monday afternoon because he recognized him for camera images.
Maurice La Haye from the Mammal Association, which monitors the wolves in the Netherlands, heard of the possible bite. « But I have not seen any visual material or evidence, » he says. « So I can’t comment much yet. » Recognizing wolves by their external characteristics is very difficult according to the expert.
Landgoed den Treek allows no monitoring by Bij12, on behalf of the provinces of the client for mapping the Wolf in the Netherlands. Nijlant has « no trust » in the province and « so -called wolven experts, » he says. He calls Bij12’s research « not objective. » « They are all wolven lovers, I know that for sure. »
Anesthetic rifle
In August last year, the province of Utrecht decided that Wolf Bram could be trapped, stunned and transmitted. « A good course of events, » says La Haye of the Mammal Association. « You are already scared the wolf with the stunning. »
Tracing and stunning Bram did not succeed. « The chance that you will encounter a non-shy wolf remains small: the area is high, » says La Haye. « And so it was not possible to get the wolf for the anesthesia. »
