VTsIOM found out the attitude of Russians to the small homeland – Kommersant
As part of the municipal forum “Malaya Motherland – Russia”, the general director of the All -Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM), which opened on April 21 in Moscow, Valery Fedorov presented the results of a survey dedicated to the attitude of Russians to local problems. From them, in particular, it follows that the share of the respondents who evaluate the situation in their village “Rather as a good” over the past five years has grown markedly, but those who “generally approve” the activities of the head of their city or village are less (see schedule).
“The size matters,” the sociologist stated, drawing attention to the dependence of the answers on the size of the municipality. “The scale is directly related to the level of financing and the quality of the authorities,” he explained. According to Mr. Fedorov, 64% of respondents believe that in general, the situation in their village is developing in the right direction, 24% – that “they go the wrong way”, and another 12% find it difficult to answer.
But when the Russians ask a more specific question – in which direction the comfort of the village will change in the next three years – only 41%awaits positive transformations. Another 36% await that everything will remain as it is, and 14% – that the situation will worsen. “Here, the balance is already negative, people are mostly not expected to be significant in the short term,” Valery Fedorov explained. Among the reasons that the Russians indicate, speaking of a decrease in the comfort of their cities, lead problems in healthcare (51%), an increase in unemployment and a reduction in salaries (41%), errors and poor work of local authorities (35%), depreciation of communal networks (33%), wear in the field of education, as well as wear and lack of roads (31%each).
