The VRT will not perform an audit to the scoring at Eurosong, but without « serious answer to worries » and « full transparency » our public broadcaster questions its future participation in question.
« We have no indications that the scoring was incorrectly established, » says Yasmine van der Borght. The VRT spokesperson states that the Flemish public broadcaster will not have a audit carried out to televoting during the Eurovision Song Contest. Spain does this, just like Belgium from the professional jury did not give points to Israel, but the maximum “Douze Points ” to Israel handed out via televoting. Yet the VRT is also « worried » about the regulations and the vote of the song competition and the organizing EBU quickly asks for clarity and transparency, says Van der Borght.

“We ask full transparency at the EBU. The question is whether the current voting system is whether the current reflection of the viewers and listeners’ opinion guarantees. In recent months, as a loyal member of the EBU, we have tried to maximum the fundamental discussion around the Eurovision Song festival within the Ebu.
« As VRT, we note that the Eurovision Song Contest as it is now organized is less and less a binding and apolitical event. It is increasingly at odds with the original norms and values of the event and on the norms and values of the public broadcaster. »
The VRT makes an explicit call to debate with all countries, « from a genuine involvement and concern about the continued existence of the competition ». Van der Borght decides that « without a serious answer to our concerns, we question our future participation. » (TRG) (EADP)
