A 27-year-old man from Hamme had to answer in the correctional court of Dendermonde for facts of exhibitionism and voyeurism. He filmed his fellow clerk in the workplace for months. « He even filmed how he performed sexual acts with her clothing. Since then my client has feared, » said her lawyer.
The facts took place from March to November of 2023. The defendant, a 27-year-old man from Hamme, and the victim were both colleagues at the judiciary, where they were both active as a clerk in the peace court. « My client fell in love with her. However, he is very introverted, has difficulty making contact and struggled with his sexuality, » said his lawyer.
The defendant then decided to spy his colleague with the smartphone. « He was obsessively concerned with that and even kept notes about where he would film, » the Public Prosecution Service outlined. « He placed his smartphone under her desk and even in the toilet. Images were found on which he could have captured her half -naked. »
Problem
When the man was finally caught, he raised that it was a ‘misplaced joke’. However, the public prosecutor was not of that opinion. « There is a sexual problem and he must be followed further, » said the attorney, who demanded a 18 -month prison sentence for facts of voyeurism and exhibitionism.
The defendant not only made images of his victim. « He even filmed how he performed sexual acts with items of clothing from my client. Items she wore after the facts, » argued the victim’s lawyer. « This is a trauma for her. She was even work on work for a long time and developed a sleep disorder and fear when she was confronted with this. »
The defense requires a punishment with a delay. « He is very embarrassed and has learned his lesson, » said his counsel. The defendant himself shouted his regret. « I don’t recognize myself here, » he said.
The judge will declare the verdict on July 3.
