Voter turnout by 4 pm has already exceeded the activity in last municipal elections as a whole / day
Among them in Riga in these municipal elections until 4 pm, taking into account those citizens who voted in the previous vote, the supports gave 43.36% of the voting population, while in the last municipal elections in August 2020, 40.58% of voters voted in the elections.
In Vidzeme, 40.04% of voters voted in these municipal elections by 4 pm, while in the previous municipal elections, which took place in June 2021, in Vidzeme a total of 36.61% of voters voted.
In Zemgale, 36.38% of voters voted in these municipal elections by 4 pm, while in the previous municipal elections a total of 31.22%, in Kurzeme voted in the municipal elections a total of 35.66%. In the previous elections, a total of 34.05% of voters voted.
It has already been reported that in the previous municipal elections, which took place in June 2021, the elections were not in Riga, where the council was elected elections a year earlier, as well as in Rezekne County and Varaklani County, where the elections were suspended by judgment of the Constitutional Court and later – in September 2021. Currently, Varaklani County is included in Madona County and is respectively in the Vidzeme constituency, while it was previously in the Latgale constituency.
In total, 1,377,183 Latvian residents are eligible for these municipal elections.
Citizens can vote this year in a total of 948 districts throughout Latvia.
The elections can vote from 8am to 8pm on Saturday.
This year, unlike the municipal elections of previous years, it is possible to vote in any municipal district.
