Volkswagen Slovakia was successful last year, the Bratislava plant increased production by 3.7 percent and produced 341 111 vehicles of four brands. However, the report on the economic results of the car manufacturer comes at a time when the US introduced a 25 % duty on imported cars.
The factory in Devínska Nová Ves has had four years of major investments for approximately EUR 1.2 billion. In particular, they concerned the Beta+ project (Volkswagen Passat and Škoda Superb), but also the preparation of the fourth generation Porsche Cayenne, which will also be fully electric.
The variation of the products in the plant brought an improvement in financial results, the turnover increased year -on -year by six percent to 12.5 billion euros. Profit before tax increased by eleven percent to EUR 355 million.

Other vehicles from Bratislava production are not exported to the US. It is a Skoda Superb, Volkswagen Passat, and Volkswagen Touareg has not been exported to America since 2018.
Volkswagen’s modern trade unions have already agreed on a new collective agreement last year, which is valid from 1 September 2024 to the end of 2027. This will gradually increase tariff wages, from this year by EUR 80 and every year by 4 percent.
