« Vladimir, stop »? Trump’s agile Ukraine policy is doomed to failure
The impression is becoming increasingly impressive that the Kremlin has succeeded in installing a puppet in the White House. Otherwise, it cannot be explained that US President Trump continues to protect the aggressor Putin and instead attacks the victim Selenskyj. Trump accuses the Ukrainian President of unnecessarily lengthening the war with Russia. Selenskyj’s refusal to accept the Russian takeover of Crimea in 2014 is « very harmful to peace negotiations ». Meanwhile, Moscow starts a fatal air raid on Kyiv.
After all: On Thursday, Trump expressed delicate criticism of the Russian dictator. After the Nocturnal attacks on the Ukrainian capital Trump wrote with at least eight dead on his Truth Social platform: « Vladimir, stop! ». The Russian attacks on Kiev are not necessary and would come at a very bad time, says Trump. Now it is a matter of completing the peace agreement.
Washington’s approach to the Ukraine question is scandalous.
However, on closer inspection, Trump’s peace plan turns out to be a capacity dictation: Ukraine is supposed to cede the Crimea and leave other occupied areas to the Russian aggressor. For this « accommodation », Trump offers the attacking country the dubious promise of a « frozen front line » – a gift for Putin, who could use the break break according to military experts, in order to later grab with increased strength. At the same time, Trump Moscow has so far not had a single concession. You can hardly believe your luck in Kremlin.
Washington’s approach to the Ukraine question is scandalous. As with his customs orgy, Trump also donates maximum confusion on this policy area. He sounds that he has a « deal with Russia », while his Foreign Minister Rubio stays away from important talks in London. Slowly it seems to dawn the supposed « Superman » from Washington: the Kremlin ruler has the better sheet. Putin tacts, delayed and foggy – and Trump applauds Willfährig so as not to endanger his illusory « deal ».
Ukraine sits in the Zwickmühle
Ukraine threatens the catastrophe. As soon as his short attention span is exhausted, Trump will lose interest in this place of war. The vital US arms deliveries could be set. Washington seems to be only interested in bringing a “peace” by all means that could soon be over again. Ukraine is located in a dilemma. The time runs away while the Russian aggressions increase.
In the harmless warning « Vladimir, stop! » It must not remain: The United States must finally take concrete steps such as arms deliveries or economic sanctions in order to persuade Russia to give in – and not continue to shoot the weaker in this conflict.
