« Vlad Rabach on Stake »: Why is a strong right in Romania? – The world

Right extremists in Romania, like a unadvantaged presidential candidate Kalina Djordjescu, wider incredible ideas and attract a large number of supporters. That caused a new crisis in that country. How did that come?

Romania has been in the last three and a half decades, from the end of Dictatorship Nikolae Caušesku, passed through crises several times.

There were « Minerias » in 1990/91. – Politically staged mining attacks on Bucharest with the aim of being silent for democratic aspirations after the fall of communism. Then the crisis of 2012, when corrupt politicians have led to the power to the power with the then president of Dryman Basescu.

And these weeks and months, Romania is located in a deep crisis, caused by the annular presidential election from November 2024. years.

But this is not just another crisis. What is different is now that never since 1990. The right-extreme, anti-Western and prophetic forces in Romania did not have so much support as now. Never since 1990. The Romanian society did not look so disappointed and discouraged as today.

The reflection of that mood were violent night protests last week in Bucharest. The supporters of right-wing parties ran the streets, destroyed shops and cafes, and conflicted with the police. Although only a few hundred sighings participated in the protests, the scenes not seen in the Romanian capital has been a warning for years, which is coming.

Reason: Election Commission excludes Djordjesque

The reason for the riots was the decision of the Romanian Central Election Commission (Vienna) to exclude the propetive right-wing extremist of Đorđejesca from repeated presidential elections held in May.

Justification: Djordjeska violated the obligation of the President with his statements to protect the Constitution and Democracy, so it is not allowed to run it. Djordjescu filed a complaint against the decision to the Constitutional Court, which was unanimously rejected her this Tuesday. There is no more appeal to that decision.

In late November 2024, Djordjesku won in the first round of the presidential elections at the time today, would still be the most important candidate for victory. The Constitutional Court first declared that elections were valid, but later annulled them, stating that new information has emerged.

In particular, it was determined that Djordjeski was financed by Gorgjeska's campaign illegally, and that Russia tried to influence the elections in his favor. Illegal campaign funding is publicly documented, but Russia's election intervention has not yet been proven.

International consequences of the case of Djordjeska

The case of Djordjeska took on international proportions when US Vice President Jey Vance took advantage of Munich's security conference as « evidence » that Europe was in whole undemocratic.

In addition, Djordjescu supports Ilon Mask, which assessed its disqualification, IKS as « madness ».

Djordjescu was preventing his candidacy as a « direct blow to the heart of the world democracy ». He said, « Europe is now dictatorship, and in Romania there is a tyranny. »
Investigations against the conspirator

But the Romanian public is not only stirred for the case of Djordjeska. Last week, a special state prosecutor for organized crime and terrorism (Diycot) announced that he investigated a group of six people as well as a 101-year-old retired general due to attempting to demolish state order.

Due to the same crime a few weeks ago a warrant was issued a arrest of the Romanian leader of the household of Horati, but his current residence is unknown.

« Vlad Ramier on the Cack »

In fact, Kalin Djordjeska and alleged puffs were woven and grotesque figures. Djordjeska, right-wing extremists with esoteric propensions, clearly says that he wants to « abolish the system » and a political elite. At the same time, he claims that he is already the president of Romania and that through it, the entire Romanian people are running for the highest state function.

It is shown as Christian Messiah and promises to rise Romania to world power status. In addition, it announces that as the President will advocate for the division of the « fictional state » of Ukraine between Romania, Russia, Hungary and Poland.

Even bizarre ideas have « pucists », whose conspiracy is supposedly revealed last week. « Commanding Vlad Ramier on Kalac » – according to medieval Vlach Vojvodi (1431-1476), which is a historical model for a fictitious figure of Dracula. Instead of Romania, they want to establish a state called « Getia », managed by military and « energy-information » management, as well as the « council council ».

Chronic lack of will for reforms

However, the current crisis in Romania is not caused by these incredible nonsense that resemble fascist legionary ideology from the time between the two world wars, nor to Megaloman Caušescu's dictatorship. The real cause of the crisis is a chronic lack of political will for reforms, ie for transparent and sustainable administration – with all the consequences of which arise.

Although Romania has developed significantly in recent decades, many rural regions are left in the batch and people are massively moving out of them. Corruption, clientelism, personal richness of political elites, political pressures on the judiciary and non-transparency of public administration remain widespread. The development of infrastructure progresses slowly and often without a clear plan.

A major problem represent for decades of neglected reforms in the education system, as well as incompetent reporting of many media. Right-wing extremists like Djordjescu often spread drastic lies and misinformation in their public appearances and interviews, and journalists rarely contradict or perform facts.

The controversial methods of government

Former Romanian President Klaus Johannis, who recently departed from duty, 2014. promised deep reforms in the country. But instead, he retired to passivity. During his two terms, judicial reforms were stopped and weakened the fight against corruption and constant political crises.

In such a context, with the lack of political alternatives, the polling body increasingly turned to right-wing extreme parties – which are in parliamentary elections in December 2024. they won about 35 percent of the vote.

Frequented by this trend, the Romanian political elite has withdrawn moves that causes complaints to fight anti-democratic presidential candidate now against the anti-democratic presidential candidate. Many measures taken against him are really questionable.

For example, a criminal investigation was conducted against February 2022. Due to the glorification of the Legionary Movement in November 2024. Also, the plans of « Commanding Government » are freely available on the Internet, and the secret services and the judiciary did not react.

The publicist Joan Ene Dogoj with the Internet portal SpotMedia warns: « We are in a deep crisis, with weakened and dull democracy, polarized society, weakened institutions and huge distrust between voters and political classes. These are real problems. Djordjescu only used the opportunity. If these problems stay, the question is the time when a new profiteer will appear. «
