After the successful season opening round in Kegums, MTB lovers continued their athletic adventures on the mountain bicycle in the landscape region at Easter weekend, as one of the most ambitious and favorite mountain biking series in Latvia – Vivus.lv MTB Marathon on May 25.

In Kamparkalns, as in other stages, participants had the opportunity to choose one of five different distances adapted to MTB riders of different preparedness – Kärcher MTB Marathon, Latvian State Forest Half Marathon, Mangaļi Teen Teenage Distance for Vigorous Young People, Cido Children’s Journey a supporter.

This year’s Vivus.lv MTB Marathon also offers a number of innovations – including the Latvian Championship in Gravel, which will take place in the next round in Aluksne on July 6, as well as the new stage in Jaunpiebalga and the closing challenge in the #MTB100 format in Estonia.

The Kärcher 50km Marathon distance was once again demonstrated by more than 150 participants in the 2018 Oscar My-Sport, who started in the biathlon in the biathlon, who was missing this time with a intense duel with a belt, as a strong Estonian. The Muižnieks won a convincing first place with just over a minute and a half. Alexander Patrijuk and Lauris Purniņš, who were closely behind the Muižnieks and secured a similar battle on the finish of the mountain, secured a similar biathlonist Patrijuk. The third place muzzle, who last year won the amateur competition with Cape Epic, was in third place this season for the first time in the top three.

Similarly, Sandy Klavins (cycling team Ogre) and Kristers Kovger (Dako North Vidzeme) fought for 4th place behind the winner. At the beginning of the mountain, there were two and a half weeks ago on an individual trip and Kovger, who showed the Bikernieki Big Prize on a group trip, but Klavins passed by in the middle of the rise, who finished fourth in Talsi on the second day. The winner of the Ranka Carton’s Cartan 2024, the winner of the 100km ski, Kovger ranked fifth, but the Swedes, who were not in the planned good shape this season, came next to the finish. By the way, 2024, Rainer Sweden won his first victory in the marathon without starting the landlord.

Women, who took the first round winner from the front, the second win – this time with a five -minute lead – was won by Estonian Greta Steinburg, who was surprised by the good and mountainous track in Talsi after the finish. Once again, ZZK rider Katrīna Jaunslaviete-Kipure, who was unmatched last year at Kamparkalns on the first day. In April, he won second place in the half marathon, with Renate Rodionova (Adazivelo) in the three marathon this time. Better than a month ago, Evelina Ermane-Marchenko (DTG My-Sport), who won the second day in Kegums, took the 4th place.

Junior Krister Celitans (by passing MTB Team), who finished third in the first round, won the 30km forest in the 30km Half Marathon, where about 300 cyclists competed in a men’s finish. Again, Rolands Rītiņš, the winner of this distance in Aluksne in this distance in Aluksne in 2021, in 2021. In the winter, in biathlon and skiing, the first -round winner of the first stage, Alvis Pivor (Bicycle Team Ogre), finished in fourth place just above the winner this time.

The women did not change the winner, and Lelde Ardava (Trek-veloprofs.lv) was once again, overtaking Junior champion Amanda Reilija Zariņš (Feelfree.lv) for two and a half minutes, which was third in the first stage. Dace Almane earned six minutes to the winner and the final prize.

Mangaļi in the 14km distance for the guys award, the trio was identical to Kegums, winning the son of modern pentathlon master Sandra Shick, Oliver, half a minute conceding and second place Oscar Strauhmanis from Kekava from Kekava NSS. For the girls after the failure in Kegums, Samanta Celitāne (by passing MTB Team) returned to the winners, overtaking the first round winner Katrina Hanson (RSS) for more than a minute and a half. Again, Samanta Luberte from Smiltene entered the top three.

The 50km Kärcher marathon was the first to finish with Mikus Veismanis, but Kristaps Jānis Rūsiņš and Kintija Plētiena were the fastest on the bicycle ride. In the half marathon, Ints Lērme and Dainis Homko (Dako North Vidzeme) won the pairs.
