Representatives from the Foreign Ministry visited Ukraine during the days where they met with the government in that country and visited projects supported by the Icelandic government.

The delegates also discussed the state of affairs in Ukraine with representatives of ministries, international organizations, non -governmental organizations, intellectuals and locals. At meetings of representatives with the Ukrainian government, Iceland’s support for the development in Ukraine was underlined. This is stated in a notification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Support for energy

Iceland has emphasized support for energy issues in Ukraine and supports the utilization of geothermal energy in that country.

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended numerous meetings, together with the International Institutions and the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy on Energy issues in this country. The Icelandic government will provide support to Ukraine in their journey to utilize geothermal energy in the form of training and education through GRA Geothermal School, which is a development center of development cooperation. Support through the United Nations

The Icelandic government supports projects in Ukraine through UN agencies and the group introduced these projects during the visit.

In Ukraine, thirteen children’s homes are run by an Icelandic model, but the Children’s Homes are the contribution of the Icelandic government to UNICEF in Ukraine. Experts from the Children’s and Family Agency will be training and training related to the project in Ukraine.

Representatives of the ministry also visited the Department of Birth Hospital, which handles women at risk. The UN population focus was placed on providing a new equipment for the Department of Weds. Iceland’s contribution to the UN Population Fund has gone to projects that improve the quality and access to gender and fertility health services.
