About 2,200 fines were applied by the police of the Highway Brigade, in the first week of June, following the verifications made for traffic safety.

According to a statement from the Romanian Police, transmitted on Saturday, Agerpres, between June 2 and 8, the police of the Highway Brigade acted to prevent road events and ensure traffic fluency, and following the irregularities found 2,182 contraventional sanctions.

Thus, the police say, 767 contraventional sanctions were applied to the persons who exceeded the legal limit and 187 those who did not use the seat belt.

Also, 37 sanctions for technical failures were applied, 36 for the lack of periodic technical inspection and 152 for non -compliance with the rules regarding the driving periods, breaks and rest periods and the use of their activity registration.

At the same time, 17 contraventional sanctions were applied for the stationing on the emergency band, six for driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages and one for irregular overrun, the source mentioned.

As complementary measures, the police officers from the highways retained 95 driving licenses, of which 49 for speed and withdrew 111 registration certificates, with ten crimes being found, the Romanian Police statement.
