Viewers decided: N1 and new convincingly most watched channels in SBB network – society
N1 and new in April confirmed their leadership position in the domestic media space when it comes to viewing and confidence in the audience.
According to the official data measurement of TV Beat, N1 was a convincingly most watched channel in the SBB network in April with a share of 13.96%, while the new took second place with 12.53%. RTS found himself in third place, while all other televisions with the national frequency recorded the viewance below 10%, and newly obtained channels – with the exception of sports arenum channels – Share below 2% recorded.
Despite the political pressures and targeting our journalists, carpented obstructions as well as attempts to limit the availability of our channels, N1 and new leaders remain in informing citizens of Serbia. During April, our reporters continued to follow stories from exceptional importance that not only are important now will already have deep-axis consequences in the future.
While the journalist is a new Radovan Saratlic drove along with students on the road to Strasbourg, Reporter N1 – Ksenija Pavkov, Ana Opačić and Zaklina Tatalović – reported on dirty welcomes in Hungary, Austria, Germany and France. In the previous days, Teams N1 are also with Ultramaratons running towards Brussels, followed by Sanja Kosović, Tijana Zarić and Tamara Stojanović.
New and N1 reporters reported with two-week blockages of RTS, but also with most protests organized by students across the country in support of students.
These results are not just statistics – they are the message of the audience. Citizens choose media that report them true, and journalists who address them with respect and responsibility.
In that light, it is especially worrying that Yettel, despite part of E & PPF Telecom Group, which possesses exclusive rights to the United Media Channel Distribution in Serbia – it has been refusing to include N1 and new to its network. According to the existing contract, Yettel has the opportunity to immediately allow access to all the minds of channels without any obstacles.
At the time of media freedoms are seriously threatened, denying citizens proving not only professional journalism still exists in Serbia, but that it is the most watched content, is a direct impact on the right to the public to know.
In this context, any further delay or absence of the decision to make these channels available to users opens space for doubt that pressures that overcome purely market reasons.
We thank the audience on the trust that indicates us every day.
