Video to your heart stops. This is how the Paris SG coach spoke about the loss of his daughter, ‘Am I happy?’
Luis Enrique (54) is the victory of his PSG-a against Liverpool dedicated a prematurely deceased daughter Xani. At only nine years old, Xana lost her battle with osteosarcoma, especially a rare form of bone cancer at the end of 2019. Less than a year after becoming a Spanish national team coach, Enrique stepped down for a while for private reasons. A few months later it was revealed that the reason was a rare disease of his daughter and wanted to spend as much time with her as possible. In the documentary « You Haven’t Got A Clue » Enrique opened his soul and spoke openly about the tragedy that hit his family. In one part of the documentary, he emphasized that she may not be physically here, but she is always spiritually with them.
– Do I consider myself happy or unhappy? I think I’m honored, very honored … My daughter Xan lived with us nine wonderful years – said an emotional Spaniard in a documentary whose clip is again massively distributed to social networks.
He also said that his wife couldn’t look at her pictures for too much sadness. He replied that she had to have her pictures with herself and so remember her life because she was still alive.
After Xan’s death, all the clubs that Enrique led or played for them supported Spain’s legend, and many players joined, including our captain Luka Modric. During the World Cup in Katra, on the day of Xan’s 13th birthday, Enrique dedicated her to her and showed that he was indeed still with him and followed all his matches.
« She will forever remain our guiding star, » Enrique told him too heavy in 2019.
After a documentary published, the story of the Spanish coach touched the whole football world and the PSG fans, as well as other clubs, supported Enrique and wished him the Champions League trophy.
« I never wanted something in my life as I want Enrique to take the Champions League, » said one fan.
« I have a nine -year -old girl and this documentary broke me. What a big man, » another added.
