Video | Narva clip – did not bring his heroes to Eurovision, but he distinguished himself at the film festival
The biography of a small Narva team of video production was replenished with a pleasant fact: in one of the seven nominations of the XVIII International Film Festival of Film Magika film amateurs, the AD Industry film studio was recognized as the winner.
The nomination, where “AD Industry” sent their application in January was very specific – “musical video”. That is, it was necessary to offer not just something filled with meaning and “watching”. And in line with the prevailing standards of music clips, which today the Internet is literally flooded. The festival itself is a cultural phenomenon proven for years, which is organized by the Yykhvi Center for Culture and interests and participate in which film amateurs from all over Estonia.
The Narva newspaper is especially pleasant to note that the leader of Ad Industry Daniil Volotskaya was an employee, as well as repeatedly, a partner of our editorial office for various projects. Now Daniil is a freelancer engaged in several directions of video products.
Talking to us about the history of the emergence of his festival work, Daniil first mentioned that the famous Narva group “Pale Alison” played a special role in this. It was on her song “Bipolarity” that the clip was shot. Volotskaya says that with this team their path-path crossed more than once, and it was always a very interesting creation.
As for Bipolarity, the Narva group dreamed of getting with her for Eurovision. They sent an audio recording to the qualifying round. Then they thought about the video, but the time to create it was critical.
“In a good way, for this you need at least two weeks-in order to step by step, changing the locations, to shoot the material, and then effectively mount,” Daniel shares, who acts in this process primarily as a director.
But the clip was removed in two days. Filming took place on the stage of the Vaba Lava Theater Center and in the creative hub Objekt.
Unfortunately, our Pale Alison did not pass on the Eurovision Song Contest. But so that the invested efforts are not disappeared, “Ad Industry” sent a clip to “Lutherna Magika”. And in the end he received the title of the best in his category, a symbolic figurine and an equally symbolic prize. This festival fell into the field of view of the team about 10 years ago – then they were its ordinary spectators, giving out a lot of useful things from there. In other years, they received prizes.
“Yes, such confessions are very motivated,” says Daniil Volotskaya. Although personally he has been motivated since school age – with his brother Arseny Arkhipenko, they became interested in the creation of the video, playing in the studio « Peer » of the House of Children’s Creativity. And then they created their own company – AD Industry. Daniil hopes that the Bipolarity video will help the development of Pale Alison’s popularity. And he thinks-whether to send him to some other competitions.
