The city under Marjan on Saturday became the scene of serious cheerleading riots during and after the match between Hajduk and Dinamo in Split Poljud. Already in the morning, a massive fight of Torcida and Bad Blue Boys was recorded in the Pujanke neighborhood of Split, and the situation was just getting worse during the day.

Hooligan fights in Split
By the evening hours, more than 160 fans were arrested, for fighting, pyrotechnics, alcohol and insults, the Ministry of the Interior said. The hooligans attacked police officers, shot them with bottles and stones. As confirmed by the Split-Dalmatia Police Department for 24 hours, at least 16 police officers were injured.
– For now, the ambulance has been helped by 16 of our colleagues. But it’s not a final number. These are minor injuries. No one needed to go to the hospital. It’s not about final figures, they are likely to be known in the morning. There are no special actions. Officers will continue to monitor public spaces and ensure that the state of order and peace remain at a satisfactory level. The final actions are ongoing. As far as we know, everything went in order to transform the guest fans-they announced for 24 hours from the Split-Dalmatia Police Department.
The arrests could last until late into the night, since the riots on the streets are not yet fully placed under control. Throughout Saturday, police conducted a series of criminal processing, and the suspects for misdemeanors were prosecuted under the emergency procedure. Most will be immediately taken to the Misdemeanor Court, where a decision to punish.
Given the extremely large number of detained, it is possible that, with a regular duty judge, an additional number of judges will be hired to speed up the processing of cases.
