The tourist from India has unconsciously recorded the moments of bloody attack at the Pahalgam Kashmir resort. The recording, created during a panoramic cable car driving, shows an idyllic landscape, but screams and panic clearly hears in the background. The attack took place last Tuesday in the Baisaran mountain meadow, five kilometers from Pahalgami, a well -known tourist destination that is often called « Indian Switzerland ». The militants opened fire on a group of tourists, killed 26 people and wounded dozens.

The Gujarata tourist who was among the attacked described the moments of chaos.

– People started running, crying and yelling. A complete turmoil arose, ”he said.

Akshay Solanki, a tourist from Mumbai, said his group decided to stay in the region because there were no flights available to return home.

Indian media reported the shots of the soldiers running toward the location of the attack. The survivors claim that the attackers distinguished non -Muslim victims. Social networks also featured footage showing bodies scattered in the meadow, while desperate survivors call for help.

After the attack, the Indian authorities conducted extensive sections across the region, arrested hundreds of people and demolished houses who suspect they belonged to militants. The tensions between India and Pakistan, who are both entitled to Kashmir, have again tightened. Both sides announced the answer.

After the attack, Pahalgam remained empty, with closed shops and empty hotels. But in recent days, the city shows the first signs of recovery – the stores are open, and tourists are returning in a small issue, according to the BBC.

The armed rebellion in the region has been around since 1989 and has so far taken tens of thousands of lives. Militants regularly attack soldiers and civilians. The last major attack on civilians occurred in June 2024, when nine people were killed in an attack on a bus with Hindu pilgrims and 33 of them wounded.

Kashmir remains one of the most unstable areas of the region, divided between India and Pakistan since 1947, when Pakistan was founded after the British withdrawal and India gained independence. So far, two wars and one limited conflict have been conducted because of Kashmir, and today it is monitored by about 500,000 Indian soldiers.
