Video burden Israeli army – Diepresse.com
15 people are said to have died in the Israeli attack on March 23. Israel had explained that the vehicle had been on the road without permission and without light. The video that has now appeared shows that the ambulance even turned on blue light.
A video recorded with the mobile phone of a humanitarian helper killed in the Gaza Strip is said to show the last moments before an Israeli attack two weeks ago, in which 15 helpers died. The Israeli representation of the incident should be refuted. The recording published on Saturday from the Palestinian Red Heading Moon (PRCS) shows how a vehicle that is recognizable as an ambulance is on the road with flashing lights when shots suddenly fall.
The phone belonged to one of the 15 humanitarian helpers who, according to the U.N. and the PRC was killed in an Israeli attack on March 23. After the incident, the Israeli army had explained that its soldiers had shot « terrorists » who had approached them in « suspicious vehicles ». Israel rejected allegations that the troops had « arbitrarily attacked ambulances ». Army spokesman Nadav Shoshani said that the vehicles were on the move without the approval of the Israeli authorities and without light.
Video lasts almost seven minutes
The video now published now seems to refute this presentation. It shows ambulances who have switched on their headlights and even the blue lights. The almost seven -minute video was recorded from the inside of a moving car. It shows a fire engine and ambulance that move through a hail of balls in the dark.
The vehicles stop on the side of the road, two men in uniform rise, the voices of two medical staff can be heard – shortly afterwards there is a violent fire fight and the video breaks off. The PRCS said that the video was found on the phone of its employee Rifat Radwan, who was killed in the incident. « This video clearly refutes the claims of the occupying powers that Israeli armed forces have not arbitrarily targeted for ambulances, » said the aid organization.
The presentation that the vehicles had « approached suspiciously without light (…) » was refuted by the recording. The film material « the truth and refutes this wrong representation, » said the PRCS.
« The Jews come, the Jews come »
Among the information killed in the incident, eight PRCS employees, six members of the civil protection authority in the Gaza Strip and an employee of the UN Palestinian Aid were Unrwa. Her bodies were found near Rafah. According to the UN office for humanitarian matters (Ocha) were discovered in a mass grave. According to PRCs, the ambulances were on the move to Rafah after emergency calls had previously been received by civilians affected by the fire.
In the video you can also hear prayer that Muslims traditionally speak in the face of death. Towards the end of the reception, one voice says « the Jews come, the Jews come ». Shortly before the recording ends, a male voice in Hebrew says: « Wait, we come. We are not responsible – you are responsible. »
Israel is now examining incident
The death of the 15 humanitarian helpers had been sentenced internationally. UN Human Rights Commissioner Volker Türk said that the incident raised concerns about possible war crimes by the Israeli army. He called for an « independent, quick and thorough examination ».
The Israeli military explained that it checked the incident. A military representative announced that the corpses had been covered « with sand and fabric » in order to avoid damage until their salvage. (APA/AFP)
