Ilie Bolojan held a press statement after participating in the summit of leaders on Ukraine, organized in London by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

He said that the security guarantees that would be granted to Ukraine will be for « all the eastern flank, from the Baltic to the Black Sea », pointing out that they will not be assured without the support of the United States.

« It has been agreed that the security guarantees that can be granted to Ukraine cannot be insured without support from the US. These security guarantees are not just for Ukraine, but they are practically for the whole eastern flank, from the Baltic to the Black Sea. In this sense, in the continuation of the transatlantic partnership, a common plan will be worked in such a way that the security guarantees are insured both with a great involvement of the European countries, but also based on a support that the US could ensure, « said Bolojan.

Leaders gathered in London have agreed to maintain financial and military support for Ukraine

They also agreed on the preparation of European countries for « a greater burden for peace in Europe. »

« In this sense, it will be considered the growth of defense budgets in the next period, » said Ilie Bolojan.

At the same time, Bolojan added, for the conclusion of an armistice and the cessation of fire as soon as possible, a resumption of dialogue between Ukraine and the US would contribute to a faster closing of the conflict and the cessation of fire.

« The present countries agreed that in the next stage they would have consultations and until the end of next week to make decisions in this regard, » concluded Bolojan.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer invited to the London informal summit among the EU states of the state or government heads of Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Spain and Sweden, invitations from outside the community block being Ukraine, Norway, Turkey and Canada.
