The casket with the body of Pope Francis was not closed before exposing her to the public in the Basilica of St. Piotr. The faithful are a few meters and a railing from her. This is a distance that allows you to keep the dignity of the deceased and respect for him. Many people, however, for the main purpose of the visit to the temple have taken a photo of the pope’s body with a close -up. – The coffin is set so that the bodies cannot be seen too much. That is why people reach out so that they can capture the pope’s face. Sometimes it is literally a forest of hands. It was difficult not to pay attention to it – says the exchanger of « Fakt » Anna Orłowska.

In the pictures taken by our photojournalist, in a place specifically appointed by the Vatican services, you can also see people who take a selfie with a casket with the Pope.
Sorry to say, but we got the impression that for some it is a kind of folklore, not a spiritual experience. After leaving the basilica, people sit on the walls and show them what photos they managed to take. We saw a Spanish -speaking family who enthusiastically watched photographs on the phone
– says our reporter.
She also pointed out that when the prayers lasted, many people did not survive to the end. As soon as the possibility of entering the basilica appeared, people literally rushed to take their place in the queue. They did not care that the prayers for the deceased were still ongoing.

Some even took smartphones with them to be able to lift them higher. When they were forbidden to use, many people did not contribute to any reflection anyway. People tried to extend their hands as high as possible to capture the image of the deceased Francis. Not only that, some people in the basilica took telephone conversations, not taking into account the seriousness of the situation and respect for the pope.
This is not certain, but probably only on the first day the coffin with Franciszek’s body will be open. Then it is to be closed. I suspect that that’s why so many people stand in a queue today. They care about the photo. It’s late and the queue is still gigantic
