Vasilis Carras’ Great Unfulfilled Dream!
One of the deepest wishes of the late singer Vasilis Carras takes flesh and bones through a great charity concert-tribute to his life and songs.
In just a month, on June 13, colleagues, friends and all his music family unite at a huge concert in the flagship venue of the Kallimarmar Stadium to fulfill a dream of the great folk singer who passed away in December 2023.
Despite his enormous love in Northern Greece and Kavala, his place of origin, the always subversive Vasilis Karras was repulsed to climb the stage of the historic stage in the heart of Athens, thereby joining his audience « from the north to the south ».
People from all over Greece, having in their hearts the lord of the popular song, will sing Basil’s great successes, with the apostate contribution of 16 big names who were honored to work with him record or even on stage.
This great venture is the minimum tribute that could be attributed to the great music persona that did not see its songs, but also the feast of the popular feeling flooding the Kallimaros area.
Honoring himself and the charity work that the singer supported while he was alive, friends, acquaintances, associates, and people who continue to admire him to this day, they will join forces and their voices for a night that is expected to be historic and very moving.
Vasilis Karras was one of the most beloved and authentic faces of Greek music history. With his dedication to folk song, his honestness and special complexion, he managed to unite not only generations but also different peoples through his songs. An interpreter who left his own truth indelible has never been compatible, and despite his accomplishments- who arrived at the Guinness Book of Records- remained as simple and humble.
So on June 13, Kallimarmaro is expected to be filled with a crowd of people who will help Vasilis Carras’ dream reach even higher, on a night that will not be a simple « goodbye » but a big « thank you » for what he was ambassador and left.
The concert participates in alphabetical order: Konstantinos Argyros, Despina Vandi, Katie Garbis, Christos Dantis, Stelios Dionysiou, Peggy Zina, George Kakosaios, Nikos Makroulos, Paola Paola Chrysochoid.
