Utilizes the wounded son loss to good deeds

Jökull Frosti Sæberg was only four years old when he died of accidents almost four years ago. His father, Daniel Sæberg Hrólfsson, was determined to take advantage of the sorrow that followed the son's loss to give good results and keep his son's memory alive for the time being.

Daníel Sæberg is the guest of Kristín Sifjar Björgvinsdóttir in Day. There he talks sincerely about his son's departure and the Green Day program, a sponsor event that he is currently hosting for the third time in honor of Frosta's glacier and takes place on Sunday.

The time froze

The grief of parents who lose their child is indescribable with both words, expression and feelings. Daniel remembers the event when he received news of what had happened to the glacier Frosta. He will never forget the call.

« He lands on getting a foreign object in his throat and then we took a very difficult time. Also, just the blow to hear from this, « says Daniel, who experienced nothing at this point at this point where he was stuck in a traffic jam and witnessed it when the ambulances pushed past a priority to save his son's life.

« I remember exactly where I was. I was stuck in traffic where I saw the ambulances, ”he explains. « It was absolutely miserable and time was just frozen. It all happened so slowly, or I felt that way. «

The hopefulness that took out

Daniel's story of the day fateful and the eve of the departure of the glacial frost is heavier than tears. Cooling treatment was tried to increase his life expectancy, but as Daniel says, Jökull was frost with a life of life for five days after the accident but was heavily held at Landspitali.

« There is some hope. There he was not quite gone so there is some hope that he will come back and is, as I said, in such a cooling treatment. It should help with oxygen deficiency and more, but unfortunately it didn't work out. «

It is hardly possible to put themselves in the footsteps of parents who lose their children. You can make the painful pain in mind, but according to Daniel, he is different in real life. So wounded that he cannot be described.

« You are never prepared. You have all kinds of ideas or you could totally imagine what it is like to lose a baby but losing a baby is someone else's feeling. I don't quite know how to describe it. Somehow I am still walking today that I had no hope that I could. «

The memory lives on the green day

As mentioned earlier, Daniel was determined to use this sad life experience for some good. He wanted to use the grief as a power for good works, and thus the idea came to light on the green day.

« This is a sponsor day dedicated to my son and at the same time we are for collection for children and adolescents in grief, » Daniel explains, but the green day will be held on Jökul Frost's birthday next Sunday, March 2, but that day he would have been eight years old.

All the Green Green Greenland's funds go to organizations that assist children in grief, such as Örninn a sponsorship company and a grief center. Daniel says the cause is worthy and wants with the green day to repay in some way all that the organization has done for him and his older son who lost a lot when Jökull Frost died.

The issue can be made with free contributions:
