USR wants to cut the antenna increase received by budget

The USR works on a package of measures to reduce the budget waste, the reform of the state apparatus and the ‘cut’ of bureaucracy.

The working team, led by the interim president of the USR, Dominic Fritz, was made in the context of the informal consultations convened by President Nicușor Dan, according to a statement sent by the Union Save Romania.

On Thursday, USR is represented in the working group with all the pro -European parties by: Senator Cristian Ghinea (former Minister of European Investments and Projects), MEP Vlad Voiculescu (former Minister of Health) and Marius Vasiliu, expert within the Department of Public Policy of the USR.

« Our priority is to unlock access to European funds and support the president in future discussions with the European Commission and the European Parliament, » the statement said.

USR proposes to be established first and foremost the expenses of the state to be cut, and only then to discuss new taxes.

The formation also proposes a series of solutions to reduce the budget deficit. In this sense, it draws attention to the antenna increase, which totals over 6 billion lei annually and thus represents the equivalent of a percentage of VAT.

‘You cannot grow VAT, put your hand in the pockets of all Romanians, to pay a privilege. We also have the privacy increase, which is 15% of the salary. We also have the example of increasing the allowance more than 5 times, to almost 70,000 gross lei, from 12,656 lei, for the members of the Board of Directors of the National Company of Bucharest Airports, according to the information published by ECONOMEDIA.ro. In short, the budget deficit would increase by 1.5 million lei ‘, it appears from the statement.

The USR mentions that the Academy of Scientists of Romania (AOSR) is a « without real scientific activity », but which benefits from 11 million lei annually.

‘It is one of the structures that do not do anything relevant to’ science ‘, but they pay for salaries and life allowances such as Ion Iliescu and Archbishop of Tomis, Theodosius. Levant’s Institute – 3.4 million lei per year. Another institution-Sinecură, for a single man ‘, says the quoted source.

The USR emphasizes that the program, the solutions for the tax crisis and the reforms must be established first, and subsequently the discussions about the nominations in office can follow.

‘Only in crises Romania had the political courage for the necessary reforms and we need not only to repair the deficit, but also the confidence of the taxpayers in the Romanian state. There are just a few examples to see how big the waste is, it is not a solution to ask for more money from the people who keep the economy behind, who work honestly and pay their taxes, but to leave the evasion and those who have received inflated functions sometimes invented just for them. (…) The fight with the waste from the budget is not one against the honest or vulnerable budgets who need the correct public services, the state must be repaired with them, « said USR vice -president Oana Țoiu.
