USA: Man dressed as a police officer murdered a member and her husband in Minneapolis – two other injured

A Democratic State Senator of the Local Parliament of the State of Minnesota and her husband were killed, and another state senator was injured this morning in an « act of political violence », Tim Walz, ruler of this northern state, announced.

Melissa Hortman and her husband, from Brooklyn Park, « were shot and killed early this morning in what seems to be a politically motivated murder, » the governor said at a press conference.

Target and second senator

He went on to say that a second senator John Hoffman and his wife, from Chablin, who were also targeted, were injured. « This was an act of political violence, » Walz stressed.

Authorities have asked the residents of two suburbs of Minneapolis to stay in their homes as they seek the suspected perpetrator of the attacks that were transmitted by representing the police officer and shot the two democratic states and their spouses in their homes.

The attacks took place before dawn.

Amy Clobucar, one of the American Senators of Minnesota, confirmed the identity of the victims of the « shocking act of violence » in a post on X, saying that her prayers « are with the Hortman and Hoffman families ».
