USA-Analyst: King Frederik will be able to stop Donald Trump
Diplomacy can come in many forms – also with king crowns and elephant orders.
And according to US analyst Torsten Jansen, Denmark’s best bet to tame Donald Trump’s storm of Greenland and national security being to send the majesty into the offensive.
On his Instagram profile, former DR correspondent and long-time knows of American politics does not know his fingers in between when analyzing the situation around the Republican president and his sustained interest in Greenland.
An interest that has again put Denmark in a delicate position between great powers and stormy announcements.
Torsten Jansen draws parallels to Britain, where Prime Minister Keir Stormer recently visited Trump and presented a personal invitation from King Charles. A gesture that, according to Jansen, speaks directly to Trump’s need for magnificence and symbolic victories.
