In the update of the extraordinary bulletin issued before the start of bad weather The National Meteorological Service proceeded as the phenomenon is evolving.

According to the NMS, the differences mainly concern Crete, the Dodecanese, and the western parts of Central Macedonia will also be affected.

In particular, these areas provide heavy rains and thunderstorms from time to time until noon on Wednesday.

At the same time, the phenomena are expected to be accompanied by reinforced winds and local hailstorms, with the authorities drawing attention to residents of areas with severe weather events with ‘112’ emergency messages.

In detail, the NMS provides:

A. In the Cyclades, Eastern Solidarity, Euboea and Sporades until noon on Tuesday (01-04-25).

B. In eastern Thessaly and the western parts of Central Macedonia (Pieria, Imathia, Pella) until Tuesday afternoon (01-04-25).

C. in the islands of the Eastern Aegean (mainly Chios-Ikaria-Samos area) until Tuesday night (01-04-25).

D. in Crete (mainly in west and southern Crete) and Gavdos until Wednesday morning (02-04-25).

E. In the Dodecanese until noon on Wednesday (02-04-25).

Message from 112 to severe weather phenomena was sent on Tuesday morning (1/04) to Crete inviting citizens to be careful in their movements.

The message was sent at 09:18 in the morning and draws the attention of the citizens, due to the bad weather that has hit Crete in recent hours, with heavy rains and thunderstorms.

Rivers the roads in Chania

From very early Tuesday morning it is raining in Chania and so far the storm has no decrease in tension. At the same time, according to local media, in some areas it also throws hail.

In several places the roads have been turned into « rivers », while vehicles are carried out with great care.

Traffic interruption in Halkidiki

Due to heavy rainfall in Halkidiki, vehicles have been discontinued in several parts of the road network.

According to the ELAS update. On Tuesday morning (01/04) several problems in parts of the Halkidiki road network are recorded and due to the volume of water, road sections have been closed.
