Universities took their trophies – Cyprus Newspaper

The 23rd University Sports Games Closing and Award Ceremony organized by the Northern Cyprus University Sports Federation was held at the fair Premium Hall. Cups were presented to the schools that were successful in the branches. Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) won the first place in women and men, while the Near East University Health, Culture and Sports Department Assoc. Dr. Hakan Atamtürk was presented the “Tolga Kınacı Special Award”. Club 216 representatives Kemal Türker and Gizem Gürdere were presented to the Tennis Championship between the universities.

Kınacı congratulated the athletes
At the ceremony, which started with a stance of respect and the National Anthem, Hüseyin Aşkın Kınacı, President of the Northern Cyprus University Sports Federation, made a speech. Kınacı, who congratulated all the athletes in 22 branches with the participation of 16 universities this year, stressed that sport is not only a physical activity, but also the construction of characters and culture.

Pointing out that the University Sports Games are not just a competition, Mayor Kınacı said, “It is a very valuable platform where youth puts the potential of youth and the bridges of friendship between universities are established,” he said. Stating that the real winner of the games is the university community that shares the universal language of the unity and solidarity with the spirit of unity and solidarity, Kınacı said, “I would like to express my gratitude to all university administrations, coaches and everyone who contributed to the organization”.

Awards were presented
Following the speech of the President of the Federation Hüseyin Kınacı, the former presidents of the Federation Prof.Dr. Dr. Hasan Ali Bıçak was presented by Beyhan Gürgöze and members of the Federation Board of Directors. The first general classification was the EMU cups from the President of the Federation Hüseyin Aşkın Kınacı. The ceremony was completed with the flag change.
