Unions will discuss: the result of the meeting of Vasil Terziev and the protesters in public transport

At 7 pm it will be clear whether the protesters in the city’s urban transport will accept the pretext of Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev or will continue with the blockage of the capital. Unionists from CITUB and Podkrepa CT will talk with their members and decide on protest actions. Then it will be understood whether the subway will stop as well, but from the statement of its director Nikolay Naydenov, it became clear that the subway would work rather.

Mayor Vasil Terziev invited at 2 pm representatives of the striking of the public transport of negotiations.

His proposal is to get an increase of BGN 180. Yesterday, the municipality offered BGN 100 net increase, plus a 100% increase in the bonus in the companies « Sofia Electric Transport » and « Sofia Motor Transport », which is about BGN 300.

The waste cleaning in Sofia will not stop, assured Sofia Deputy Mayor Ivan Vasilev at a press conference.

Earlier today, two of the cleaning companies-« Sububa » and « Green Partners-BCS » warned that the garbage collection in eight metropolitan areas could stop from May 19, because the municipality owed them nearly 9 million levs and in case the municipality continued to pay them due for work since December 2024. According to Vasilev, until the adoption of the municipal budget, it is worked on under the conditions of limits against the Public Finance Act. This was the reason why there was a delay in a number of payments in the Sofia Municipality.
