Union of municipal officers reaches almost absolute majority

« With an overwhelming consent of almost 80 percent, the union of the community staff achieved a remarkable result: it reached almost the absolute majority and secured four out of five seats in the public service Chamber of Professional, » cheered the FGFC in a press release.

On Tuesday, the election results to renew the chamber of the officials and public employees were published. The Ministry of the Public Office received 24,998 ballot papers of the 42,335 letters. The turnout was 59 percent. The social elections took place between March 6 and 26.

« We are particularly satisfied with the election results, » says the President of the CGFP, Romain Wolff, in conversation with the « word ». Wolff is particularly pleased to have received a seat in the education group. The CGFP narrowly missed this seat in the election of 2020.

Romain Wolff sees the election results confirmation of CGFP policy. « We remain the only government negotiating partner. We want to be involved in the tax reform and make sure that something positive for the population comes out, we have received a clear order from the voter, » said the trade unionist. The CGFP also wants to defend itself against « any deterioration in the pension system ».
