Union announces strikes for June at Carris
The National Union of Drivers and other workers (SNMOT) announced a strike at Carris, partially between June 2 and 6, and from 24 hours to 12 June. The stoppage is in protest for the impasse in negotiations with the company.
In a statement, SNMOT said it will call a strike at Carris Highway Carrier, from June 2 to 6, Monday to Friday, two hours at the beginning and end of each service, and 24 hours on June 12.
According to Lusa agency, the trade union structure explained that the agreement on salary updates would not imply the termination of the business process and that, together with the company, it would constitute “working groups with a view, namely, reducing working hours in a phased way to 35 hours per week”.
According to SNMOT, he had already been able to reduce effective work to about 37 hours and 30 minutes per week, « a fact that was only assumed by all involved in this process some time later. »
On 30 April, the first meeting of the working group created to reduce effective work to the 35 hours per week.
According to the union, Carris, after requesting to provide data in order to present “proposals as reliable and reached the company”, did not.
