ULEB Euroleague will play 20 teams next season; The invitation has been received by Dubai / day represented by Bertan
At the Euroleague Board meeting, it was decided that the number of Euroleague teams in the 2025/2026 season would reach 20 teams so far.
The proposal has yet to be approved by the General Assembly.
The Board agreed to create a provisional list of invited teams that will depend on the completion of all necessary formalities.
Meanwhile, the « Basketnews.com » website reports that teams are already known for next season. As Berlin’s « Alba » chose to play in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Champions League next season, the newcomers will be three – « Valencia » from Spain, Tel Aviv Hapoel from « Dubai » from Israel and Bertan.
The competition system will remain unchanged, informs Basketnews.com, with six teams immediately entering the playoffs, and four more for two more play-offs.
It is reported that this season’s ULEB Euroleague winner Hapoel will play next season for the next season, with contracts with Valencia, Monaco, Belgrade clubs « Partizan » and « Crvena Zvezda » as well as Bologna « Virtus » for three years.
It is reported that Dubai has a five -year contract, but Paris could conclude a one -year contract.
The UAE team « Dubai » is playing this season in the Adriatic League Championship.
