Ukrainians have been detained for rattling shipments in Germany
Three Ukrainians have been arrested for plotting to send exploding shipments from Germany to Ukraine, prosecutors said. This puts the European cross -border post network in the center of attention as a goal of suspected Russian sabotage.
Following the cases of consignments that exploded in European landfills last year, arrests strengthen the atmosphere of suspicion in Europe, where intelligence officials warn of a growing threat of hybrid attacks after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Rattling packages in Germany nearly downloaded a plane
The plot, described in detail by German prosecutors on Wednesday, was identified as a test involving GPS trackers to find routes for future arson and bomb attacks.
The suspects are believed to have been in contact with persons working for Russian state institutions, federal prosecutors said.
Two of the men identified in accordance with German confidentiality laws only as Vladislav T. and Daniel B. were arrested over the weekend in Germany. And the third, Evgeny B., was detained on Tuesday in Switzerland.

« We know that Russia is trying to destabilize Western democracies with all means – including purposeful sabotage and insidious intelligence methods. Our security authorities … are closely monitoring this threat, » said German Minister of Justice, Stefani Hubig, in a statement on arrests.
