He managed to escape the burning building and survived, having suffered severe burns, fractures and a stroke. Olha underwent long -term treatment and rehabilitation through the Unburned charity program.

In August 2023, her husband Yurii Diatliuk, a 95th Air Brigade Soldier, was killed in a battle in the Donetsk area. Since then, Olha has supported other women who lost their partners in war.
