At the same time, the expert does not believe that Russian aviation is now significantly affected, which is used in impacts for Ukraine, as there are enough airplanes for Russia, including strategic bomber. « Only a strategic bomber is a very expensive aircraft. This is a goal that anyone would like to destroy the aggressor’s arsenal, » the expert added.
Despite the fact that drones can do a lot, Maclakov does not believe that this operation will currently change the course of the war.
The expert believes that Russia’s response to this operation will be similar to Ukrainian operations, namely impacts in infrastructure and production destruction, as well as bombing at night to morally and psychologically act on Ukrainian society.
It is difficult for Maklakov to say whether Ukraine deliberately executed the operation, taking into account the talks with Russia in Istanbul on Monday. At the same time, it is clear that it took months to plan such an operation and it was not known several months ago that there would be talks on June 2. « The operation is planned long enough. Maybe the coincidence, » the expert said.
The expert believes that in the course of the war we will see more and more similar Ukrainian operations against Russian military sites, as Ukraine has to somehow defend and drones are one of the ways to really achieve good results.
Ukraine reportedly made a blow to several military airfields, which are based on bombers, deeply in Russian territory, including Siberia.
The attack was made from Russian territory – drones sent from trucks.
