Ukrainian Antonina Samoilova conquered the highest points of the planet

The climber Antonina Samoilova became the first Ukrainian woman to conquer the five highest peaks of the world. During the climb to the last of them 200 meters before the peak of the mountain, it ended a vital oxygen.

The last in the list of the five highest for Antonina was the Kanchenjang Mountain in the Himalayas – the third top top in the world. Earlier, few women were able to climb her and go down on her own, so the top of 8586 meters high among the locals was nicknamed the « Women’s Kill ».

The ascent to the canchenway did not work out without testing and for the Ukrainian woman – the day before the final stage the weather changed dramatically, which is why the exit could be canceled.

In the end, Antonina went to conquer another top, but 200 meters before the peak, she ended vital at such height oxygen. In addition, both spare cylinders were empty.

« Twenty minutes without oxygen at an altitude of 8400 immediately hit the body. Because oxygen does not enter, the blood does not circulate the body fully. Therefore, instant hypothermia begins.

You do not feel your feet in a moment, and the only way to escape from frostbite is to beat the limbs on the stone to heat them « – the climber shared the memories.

Antonin rescued Sherpa (a representative of the local people, who often accompanies climbers during climbing), who gave his balloon, and he went down.

« Imagine spending ten hours suspended on a rope. Sometimes the width of the path on which you move is not wider than one foot. All because from the fourth height camp at a height of 7500 meters to the top is a very complex area. The angle of the slope is 70 degrees.

To manage your lifting is hard. You are exhausted to the limit and here it turns out that oxygen residues can end at any time « – said climbers.

During the ascent, Antonina took with her a few thousand vertex chevron of the defender of Ukraine Oleksandr Gryanyk. In March 2022, a 28-year-old boy announced to fly to the help of his brothers surrounded by Mariupol. There the warrior was injured. He gave up evacuation. He died on May 8, 2022.

Alexander dreamed of conquering Everest, so last year Antonina lifted his photo to the highest point of the planet. This year she took his chevron to continue to conquer the peaks together.
