Ukraine Russia online: Pope confirmed the Vatican’s willingness to host peace negotiations
The chief of American diplomacy expects that Russia will soon submit a wide sketch of the ceasefire conditions to Ukraine.
According to him, they will allow Washington to evaluate whether Moscow really wants to make peace.
« In a very close horizon, perhaps a few days, perhaps this week, the Russian side will submit the conditions that they would like, » said Marco Rubio to hear before members of the US Senate Foreign Committee.
American diplomacy chief said the time estimate was based on Monday’s phone call US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and also from his own interview, which he led with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov over the weekend.
Russia is reportedly offered « only a wide range of conditions that will allow us to move to the ceasefire, which will then allow us to enter into detailed negotiations to terminate the conflict, » Rubio said.
