Ukraine Russia online: Kiev summoned the Ambassador of China
Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Chinese ambassador.
It expressed « serious concern » in connection with the reports that Chinese soldiers are fighting in the Russian army and Chinese companies are helping to produce military material for Moscow, the ministry said.
President Volodymyr Genskyj said at least 155 Chinese citizens fought alongside the Russian army, while the Ukrainian soldiers also detained two. At the same time, Zelenskyj claimed that he had information about Chinese weapons supply to Russia, but Beijing denied last week.
In connection with these accusations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the Chinese Ambassador to Kiev Ma Šeng-Kchun and submitted « evidence » supporting these claims, writes AFP.
« Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jevhen Perebyjnis stressed that the participation of Chinese citizens in enemy operations against Ukraine on the side of the aggressor state, as well as the involvement of Chinese companies in the production of military products (for) Russia raises serious concerns and contradicts the spirit of partnership between Ukraine and China, ». « Ukrainian special services have passed evidence of these facts of the Chinese party, » he added.
« Perebyjnis called on China to take measures to stop Russia’s support in its aggression against Ukraine. However, Beijing has repeatedly said that there was no such thing, » the ministry said. « Perebyinis has assured that our country appreciates a strategic partnership with China and expects China to stay in the future in any steps that could harm bilateral relations, » the diplomacy department stressed.
