« I am grateful for the initiative – a bill on sanctions, which has already supported 82 (American) senators from both political parties, » said Zelenskyj on Friday on the Platform X.

« We have also discussed it about other levers that we can use to force Russia to peace. We will continue to try together, » he added.

At the same time, the Ukrainian President accused Moscow of making fun of diplomatic initiatives and using the negotiations only as a crucial to prepare his new offensive. He stressed that Russia continues to attack the Ukrainian towns and municipalities, rejecting all ceasefire proposals. « Therefore, further pressure is needed, » he added.

Greeny, he thanked the Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and Democrat Richard Blumenthal for promoting the support of Ukraine in both of their political camps. « It is the actual participation of the United States that can guarantee reliable peace at every stage of negotiations, » he said.

Graham and Blumenthal also met Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Šmyhaľ during his Friday visit Kiev, who spoke about the possible extension of business relations.

Graham, in his own words, expects these business relations to focus on the military sector, saying that the American one will sell Ukraine weapons it has already developed. According to him, other countries that would subsequently supply them to Ukraine could buy them from the US.

Both senators are behind the new proposed package of sanctions against Russia, which is supported by most legislators across the two political parties in the US Senate. However, it is not yet clear whether it would gain the same support in the lower chamber of the American Congress, ie the House of Representatives.

According to DPA, Republican Graham does not want to overtake US President Donald Trump in this effort, trying to convey a conflict settlement between Ukraine and Russia. (TASR)
