Ukraine is based on increasing weapon production abroad

The Ukrainian government is based on increasing production in collaboration with European partners for the supply of weapons and ammunition, the Ukrainian Minister of Defense, Rustem Humorov, after a meeting of the contact group for the defense of Ukraine – known as the Ramstein group, DPA and Reuters reports.

Rustem Humorov said there is also an interest in Ukrainian weapons companies to make new systems abroad. These weapons should be delivered to Ukraine during the war, he added.

‘We will build together drones, missiles, ammunition and other weapons. Ukrainian drones changed the battlefield. And now they will change the way Ramstein countries are preparing for future threats, « said Rustem Humorov, who announced the results of the meeting with the German defense minister Boris Pistorius and the British Defense Secretary John Healey.

He added that common production is a strategic change.

Healey has condemned Russian attacks on Ukraine cities and civilians, despite peace efforts. ‘Ukraine, the United States, all those here demand the cessation of fire. We are for peace. Putin continues the war, so the work of this contact group becomes even more important. We have to take a step forward. We should never give back, ‘he said.

The UK has committed to provide 100,000 drones Ukraine by the end of the current financial year, in April 2026 – an increase of ten times compared to the current figure – after declaring that these unanswered aircraft transformed how wars are worn, notes Reuters.

For his part, Boris Pistorius has already promised increased efforts for several air defense and electromagnetic war systems, especially the protection and interruption of communications and weapons. And other countries participate in these initiatives.

Defense ministers from the contact group for the defense of Ukraine-known as the Ramstein group, made up of representatives of about 50 countries-met in Brussels on Wednesday to coordinate and supplement Military Aid for Ukraine, DPA notes.
