Ukraine has put three demands / days in talks with Russia
« The meeting is over. It didn’t end negative, » said a spokesman for the Turkish Foreign Ministry. The conversations lasted just over an hour.
The Ukrainian delegation in Istanbul claimed the return of ceasefire, prisoners and children, as well as a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenska and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Russia has not submitted its document.
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgy Tichy said the Ukrainian delegation came to Istanbul with a clear position defined by Volodimir Zelensky.
These are three points: complete and comprehensive ceasefire, the return of war prisoners, the return of deported children, other humanitarian issues, Zelenska and Putin meetings.
« Our document is absolutely logical, its points are fully implemented, they are real, they are normal, there is nothing extraordinary. We believe that this document can be executed, we have handed it over to the Russian side. Unfortunately, before the meeting, we did not receive their document from Russia. »
Ukraine has handed over a list of illegally removed Ukrainian children in Istanbul, who should be returned, said Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office.
These are hundreds of children who, illegally deported, were forcibly moved or held in temporary areas in the occupied territories.
« At a meeting in March, we confirmed our readiness for a 30 -day ceasefire with a humanitarian component. The return of Ukrainian children is an integral part of a fair and lasting peace, as well as the main element of trust, which is the first test of intent.
Zelensky announced that Russia and Ukraine are working on new prisoners.
The delegations exchanged documents through the Turkish side and we are preparing for a new release of war prisoners, Zelensky said at the summit in Lithuania.
