Ukraine attacks Russian nuclear bombers

Ukriana said she has attacked long -range Russian bombers that have nuclear capacities, at several air bases throughout Russia on June 1.

Governors in some Russian regions have confirmed drone attacks, although it is unclear whether any plane has been hit.

Ukraine’s security service, the main intelligence agency, released a video on June 1, which said it shows drones hitting Russian strategic bombers on several bases. These bombers have played a key role in the Russian war, releasing long -range vessels with Ukrainian targets.

An air base in Murmansk and one in the Riazan region is reported to have been hit, but also Irkutsk’s Belaja Base, which is over 5,200 kilometers east of the Ukrainian border.

Irkutsk’s Governor, Igor Kobzeva, said this is the first time Russian drones have been observed in the region.

In statements on Radio Free Europe, unidentified officials of the Ukraine Security Agency, known as SBU, claimed that up to 40 bomber were hit. The SBU video seems to show the drones bursting and hitting the tupolev bomber stationed on the runway, while another video shows smoke coming out of several bases.

Ukrainian allegations could not be confirmed independently, but some telegram channels that are related to the Russian army reported that four air bases have been hit.

The Ukrainian attack comes at a time when the parties are expected to hold the second round of direct talks in Istanbul on June 2, as an attempt to reach a peace agreement on the war that began in 2022.
