UDMR no longer wants rotary to government

The leaders of the political parties discussed, on Friday, with President Nicușor Dan, about the structure of the future government and agreed the variant of a political prime minister, with the UDMR not agreeing with the government rotary, said the president of the formation, Kelemen Hunor.

He said that political discussions will continue on Monday and reaffirmed the need to conclude a coalition agreement that could be initiated in the next period.

‘We discussed first of all about what we should do in the coming days and at what rate, to have a government program, a coalition agreement. And, as the colleagues started on taxation and the discounts of the deficit to work in a group of specialists, starting Monday we will work on the other fields, so, in distinct groups, to establish the directions of action. We have established that where the measures are with a great impact to establish in the governing program how much we can establish the details, of course, and when we make the decisions. So a detailed agreement is needed and this we need to prepare it next week. It takes this effort from everyone, to see what those nuances are, those areas possibly where we cannot understand, at the level of the specialists. After that, of course, if necessary, we go to the political level. This was the biggest part of the discussion, because if we manage to outline the directions of action and a government project, then it is easier to go further and set the other details, « explained Kelemen Hunor.

Regarding the future government formula, he said that no prime minister was discussed, but only about the fact that he will be a political one.

‘I discussed a little about how each one sees the future government formula and especially in the sense of having a political or technocrat. We all agreed that you need a political prime minister, because the act of governance is a political act and that prime minister has a majority behind. The question with rotary – there is no problem, I had and I do not think it was a success. And I said that from our point of view the rotary is not discussed, we do not support such a thing. And we will continue the political discussions from Monday with my colleagues Ilie Bolojan, Sorin Grindeanu, Dominic Fritz and we will enter the other details regarding the structure of the government and all that the other aspects related to government mean. Today we have not discussed neither the name of the prime minister, no structure, nor functions because for now we are far from discussing these aspects, « said the UDMR leader.

According to him, there could be a political agreement after Pentecost.

‘Next week we should have, by the end of the week, the government program or at least those aspects where everyone agrees and on the political side to have a unitary approach. But I believe that next week these details can be discussed, if we really want to have a coherent and detailed program and a viable and coherent coalition, « the UDMR president said.
